Sony announces new line of Bravia TV with support for AirPlay and HomeKit

Before CES 2021, Sony announced its latest TVs with “human intelligence”, support for HomeKit and AirPlay.

The Sony Bravia XR product line has several key features, including its exclusive Cognitive XR processor. They have industry-leading machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide the best picture and sound for any scene.

Apple users will be happy with HomeKit and AirPlay available on all three new TV series. Sony states that users will need to run iOS 12.3 or later or macOS 10.14.5 or later to use these features.

Sony has officially announced three TVs with the Bravia XR brand, including the Master Z9J 8K LED series, the Master A90J / A80J OLED series and the Master X95J / X90J 4K LED series. The main feature involves the Cognitive Processor XR performing active audio and video analysis to provide best-in-class entertainment.

Other features include Google TV with “Ok Google” functionality, HDMI 2.1 compatibility and specialized calibration modes for Netflix and IMAX video. The retail price and availability will be announced in the spring of 2021.
