Olivia Rodrigo’s hit “Driver’s License” breaks the Spotify record for most streams of a song in a single week

Disney star Olivia Rodrigo released her debut single “Drivers License” on January 8 – and quickly dominated the Spotify charts. O streaming service announced Friday the emotional pop ballad about teenagers’ broken hearts broke the platform record for most streams of a song in a single week.

Spotify’s weekly Top 200 chart revealed that the song was broadcast 65,873,080 times during the week ending January 14. The song “DÁKITI” by Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez took second place on the chart, with The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” coming in third.

But most broadcasts are not the only Spotify record that the 17-year-old songbird shattered last week. Spotify tweeted on Wednesday, that “driver’s license” beat the platform record for most broadcasts in one day for an off-holiday song on January 11 and beat its own record the next day.

The song peaked at 13,714,177 streams on Friday, according to Spotify charts.

Music is also improving on other streaming platforms.
