Vandal wielding an ax breaks windows in Senator Fargo’s office in North Dakota

Police in Fargo, North Dakota, claim to have positively identified the suspect in wielding the ax in the vandalism of US Senator John Hoeven’s (RN.D.) offices.

The Friday night surveillance video showed a masked man climbing a ladder towards the closed office door, using an ax to break the window and tearing the safety glass off the frame before quietly walking away.

Hoeven’s office is located near the Skywalk in downtown Fargo, a glass-fronted pedestrian walkway that connects two buildings on North Broadway Drive.

A spokesman for Hoeven did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News. Calls to his offices in Fargo and Washington were not answered.

Fargo’s Police Department wrote on Facebook that a report on the suspect will be forwarded to the state attorney when completed.

Contacted by phone on Wednesday, the Cass County state attorney confirmed to NBC News that he had not yet received the case report from the Fargo Police Department.
