RELATED: DFW Weather: Historic winter storm brings heavy snow, dangerously cold temperatures
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – If you have to take to the roads on Monday in Dallas, the Department of Public Works has 32 sanding trucks that will be operating non-stop until Monday night.
They will focus on streets, bridges, ramps and slippery areas of the highway reported by residents through 311. Twenty-eight additional trucks are on standby and ready to go if conditions worsen.
If the DART rail line is your primary form of transportation, you will need to find an alternative. For the safety of customers and employees, services are suspended until Wednesday.

“Frozen switches, frozen passenger doors are a major concern,” said spokesman Gordon Shattles. “If we have to close these things, the last thing we want is a passenger who is left on a platform in this weather.”
DART will maintain its bus service, but will operate on Saturday hours, with limited service on routes 63 and 362. In addition, it will operate 14 additional bus routes.
“We want to make sure people stay warm while waiting for buses, so we reopened transit centers,” said Shattles.
When it comes to air travel, if you have a flight tomorrow, check in advance with your airline to see the status and give yourself more time to get to the airport.
