TikTok’s musical ‘Ratatouille’ reveals a star-studded lineup

A musical version of “Ratatouille” to come, of just one night, prepared a cast full of Broadway stars.

Some notable theater stars involved in the project – opening Friday, January 1, 2021 – will include Wayne Brady (“Kinky Boots”), Adam Lambert (“Wicked”), Tituss Burgess (“The Little Mermaid”) and Ashley Park (“Mean Girls”).

The musical, which originated on TikTok when New York user Emily Jacobsen – who serves as Em Jaccs – posted a love ballad for the main character in the 2007 film, which has since grown into something bigger.

Earlier this month, Seaview, the theater producer behind “Slave Play” and “Sea Wall / A Life”, announced that the musical TikTok would become a unique event benefiting the Actors Fund, with tickets selling for $ 5 in the TodayTix.com.

The full cast will include:

  • Wayne Brady (playing Django)
  • Tituss Burgess (Remy)
  • Kevin Chamberlin (Gusteau)
  • Tony Award winner, André De Shields (Ego)
  • Andrew Barth Feldman (Linguini)
  • Grammy nominated Adam Lambert (Emile)
  • Tony winner Priscilla Lopez (Mabel)
  • Ashley Park (Colette) nominated for Tony
  • Owen Tabaka (young ego)
  • Mary Testa (Skinner), three times nominated for Tony.
  • With Cori Jaskier, Talia Suskauer, Nikisha Williams, JJ Niemann, John Michael Lyles, Raymond J. Lee and Joy Woods as the ensemble

“Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical” will also feature original songs created by music theater lovers on the popular social media app and will be played by the Broadway Sinfonietta 20-piece orchestra.

The event is scheduled to last 72 hours, starting Friday, New Year’s Day. The beneficiary, The Actors Fund, has been supporting unemployed artists and teams since Broadway closed in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
