Jeff Lowe he is trying to recover from a stroke that left him unanswered in an Oklahoma casino … and he and his wife suspect that someone put something in his drink that put his life in danger.
The wife of the ‘Tiger King’ star, Lauren, tells TMZ … Jeff was not breathing when she met him on March 18 at around 3 am at WinStar World Casino, where they were staying. She quickly called 911, but said, “I thought he was dying in my arms.”
Lauren says that when the paramedics arrived, they determined that Jeff was suffering a stroke – and decided that he had to be taken by helicopter to a hospital in Denton, TX. She says the medical team there has worked miracles to limit the damaging effects of the stroke and save Jeff’s life.
Lauren says what’s weird is that doctors have done a battery of tests and, at least so far, haven’t been able to determine what caused Jeff’s stroke – and that made her very suspicious about something and someone.
She told us that on March 17, hours before the stroke, she and Jeff were at a romantic dinner when a strange man approached them … claiming that he knew them and even knew their favorite drink orders. Lauren says they have no idea who he was, but it took a while when a crowd of ‘Tiger King’ fans got together to take selfies with them.
Lauren says they suspect it was when this mysterious guy mixed Jeff’s drink with something that may have caused the stroke.
Jeff’s blood and urine tests were negative for commonly used drugs … according to Lauren, but she suggests that the suspect guy may have used something more exotic. She says they started to connect the dots about what happened that night and haven’t yet reported it to the police.
The good news is that Jeff is back home recovering – after spending 3 days in the hospital – but Lauren says he is still having difficulties with speech and coordination.
