Chilling images from CCTV show flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera kissing a man in the hallway of a luxury hotel in the Philippines – before being found dead in her empty bathtub.
The 23-year-old was captured at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati City while she was celebrating on New Year’s Eve, GMA News said.
She was shown barefoot and holding a glass of wine with at least three men as they moved between the rooms – and also kissing a man in shorts and a backwards baseball cap.
Hours later, the Filipino flight attendant was found unconscious in her room – and was soon declared dead at a local hospital after being rushed there by friends and hotel staff.
Makati city police claimed there was evidence that she had been raped and, on Monday, filed a provisional rape charge with murder against all 11 men who had partyed with her.
But on Wednesday prosecutors released the only three who had been arrested so far, insisting that investigators have not proved that she was “sexually abused or raped” – and if so, by which of the 11 men accused.
Nor was it proved what caused her death, prosecutors said, with an initial autopsy saying she died of a “ruptured aortic aneurysm”.
Police and a lawyer for Dacera’s family suggested that the aneurysm was the result of his assault, however.
One of the accused, Gregorio de Guzma – son of the well-known Filipino singer Claire dela Fuente – denied reports that there was a collective rape, insisting that most men were gay.
“How did it become a rape? I am gay I have never had sex with any woman in my life, ”Guzman told ABS-CBN TV, saying that up to eight out of 11 were“ probably gay like us ”.
He insisted that he only remembered Dacera being “happy” at the party, after applying it to cardiopulmonary resuscitation the next morning, after discovering her unconscious in her room’s tub at the City Garden Grand Hotel.
