The Border Patrol whistleblower’s email details the inhumane conditions at the Texas processing center, reports Sara Carter

An email from a Border Patrol whistleblower was obtained by Fox News collaborator and investigative reporter Sara Carter detailing conditions at the Donna, Texas, migrant processing facility.

On an exclusive Hannity Tuesday, Carter explained that border officials are increasingly frustrated by dangerous conditions and neglect within processing centers and are eager for Washington officials to intervene.

The email sent from a border patrol officer to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) chain of command seemed like a cry for help, stating that the conditions are “extremely unsafe and unhealthy for detainees, agents and security forces. civil work.”

“Overcrowding is inhumane, especially for children,” continued the agent. “Pod 3A was designed to house 80 people and on this day we have 694 unaccompanied children with two agents in custody. This is 867% of the declared capacity of this detention space. The agents cannot provide the care, health and safety of foreigners under our control. custody, nor can we do it reasonably on our own. “

The agent explained that detainees are becoming stressed and fatigued – many of them held in custody for more than two weeks. The e-mail said that detainees are lying on top of each other, as there is no space to sleep while “unaccompanied children have to sleep on their side to save space”.

“If we have a fire, a leak of carbon monoxide from the generators, a stampede or any number of potential and probable occurrences, many people will die,” he says. “This situation is a disaster about to happen. Someone with the proper authority must do something immediately to alleviate the severe overcrowding before we experience a tragedy.”

Border patrol chief Rodney Scott responded to the email, saying he heard the “loud and clear” warning. In a statement on Tuesday, the CBP confirmed the validity of these emails and promised to “protect the nation and enforce the laws in a humane manner”.

Carter reported that the facility has the appearance of a windowless prison. The wave of migrants has already increased Donna’s population by 25% and the border patrol expects thousands to arrive.

But the biggest concern among officials and observers is with regard to the health of migrant children, said Carter, who often travel alone over long distances and are now crammed in tents with hundreds of others.

“They are lining up next to each other,” she said. “The smells, there is no air, there really are no windows to look out at. It is a very, very stressful situation.”
