Sneakers are this season’s most popular trend – ask Selena Gomez and Sophie Turner

Between takes, the singer-actress came out of her trailer wearing a monochromatic look that included a cream-colored double-breasted coat; a thick, gray mesh; and a khaki suit. On her feet, she wore slippers – but not her ordinary slippers. These were Louis Vuitton’s “boots with a pillow”, which are fast becoming favorites among celebrities. Like Gomez, she combined her cozy shoes with trendy clothes, although her leather blazer was not enough during the winter in New York, where Gomez is currently filming. But even with their stylish jackets, the booties were the star of each look. Of course, when your shoes are shaped like a pillow, they probably look like a hug and are covered with Louis Vuitton logos, this is practically a given. The “Pillow Comfort ankle boots”, which are available in black and forest green, were first seen at the French fashion house show in spring 21, where creative director Nicolas Ghesquière combined the elevated “slippers” with deconstructed minidresses and short leather jackets, as well as shorts. Although Ghesquière’s approach to traditional slippers was different, the homemade shoe style was a hit throughout the fashion month in September, with Balenciaga introducing plush, red slipper slides to its spring collection; Gabriela Hearst and Rosetta Getty also gave their opinion on the style. Fashion’s favorite non-fashion brand, The North Face, experimented with the pillow-shaped silhouette in the form of their beloved ThermoBall mules and booties. Unless you’re a Louis Vuitton spokesman like Turner, or a superstar like Gomez, getting your hands on a pair of cushioned boots can be tricky. (That is, unless you have $ 1,140 to spend.)
