‘Saved by the Bell’ star Dustin Diamond was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma, says the representative

Dustin Diamond of “Saved by the Bell” was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma cancer, Fox News may reveal.

Known for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers on the beloved maturing sitcom, the actor’s spokesman, Roger Paul, confirmed his cancer on Thursday and also opened up about his current treatment.

“Dustin has completed his first round of chemotherapy and his next round is being scheduled. He will also start his physical therapy soon,” said Paul in a written statement.

Diamond’s representative added that he is “looking forward to spending more time with his girlfriend, playing his double bass / video game, as well as making videos for his fans on social media.”

In addition, Diamond’s representative said he has already started receiving letters from fans, which should lift his spirits.

Diamond’s diagnosis comes a week after it was revealed that he was hospitalized. At the time, Paul said the actor was “expecting more test results”, but noted, “It’s too bad”.

In a statement posted on Diamond’s Facebook page, a post said, “We appreciate all the positivity and prayers.”
