Here is a summary of the TV news released by Samsung on Tuesday:

  • A new size of MicroLED TV, 76 inch, will be released in the future. It is the smallest size so far, reducing the dimensions of 88, 99 and 110 inches already announced. MicroLED is Samsung’s most expensive and cutting edge television, promising superior image quality with prices directed directly to millionaires. The company has not yet announced the price, but says it will happen closer to April, when its 110-inch MicroLED will go on sale in the United States. To give you a preview, this TV is sold for the equivalent of $ 156,000 in Korea.
  • One new TikTok app for all your smart TVs. The dedicated app is now available in the UK and soon in the USA. On most TVs, TikTok’s vertical (portrait mode) video will be displayed with fill bars on both sides, but The sero, which can rotate between landscape and portrait modes using a built-in engine, can display it without bars. The same goes for the 32 and 43 inch versions of The Frame, which can also be configured in portrait mode.
  • A new AirPlay integration for Sero that allows iPhones to automatically rotate it between portrait and landscape mode when you turn the phone over. The feature was already available for Android phones.
  • A new accessory for The Frame, Samsung’s TV designed to imitate wall art, called My Shelf. It is a custom bookcase, designed specifically for the TV, with customizable panels to fit the wall space. It is available in beige, white, brown and black and works with the sizes of 55, 65 and 75 inches. The company also revealed that the internal storage on The Frame 2021 will be 6 GB, “allowing the storage of approximately 1,200 ultra high resolution images”. Previous versions were 500 MB.

  • The availability of AMD FreeSync Premium Pro on Q70A TVs and above, as well as The Frame. This extra game, compatible with PCs and state-of-the-art consoles, he adds high-range dynamics performance metrics for variable refresh rate. Samsung says current games like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War support that.
  • The company updated its Odyssey G9 gaming monitor last June, changing the backlight to Mini-LED. This should greatly increase your control over local contrast to provide better details in highlights and shadows.
  • Samsung’s Smart Monitor, a model for work and play that was announced in November, is now available. Update, 8h05 PT: Samsung originally told CNET that the 76-inch MicroLED TV would be launched in late 2021 or early 2022, but changed that statement to simply say that it was “on the product roadmap” for some time in the “future”.
