Phoebe Bridgers talked about her own experience with Marilyn Manson after the musician was accused of sexual assault.
Actor Evan Rachel Wood and four other women claimed on Monday (February 1) that Manson had abused, prepared and manipulated them.
“He started to prepare me when I was a teenager and he abused me horribly for years,” wrote Wood on Instagram. “I was brainwashed and manipulated until submission. I got tired of living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and summon the many industries that have enabled him, before he destroys more lives. I am with the many victims who will no longer be silent. “
Manson denied the allegations in a statement posted on Instagram, writing: “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with partners of similar minds. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth. “
Bridgers shared his own experience with Manson on Twitter earlier today (February 4) and said those around him were aware of his alleged behavior before the allegations were made public.
“I went to Marilyn Manson’s house when I was a teenager with some friends,” tweeted the singer and songwriter. “I was a huge fan. He referred to a room in his house as the “r * pe room”, I thought it was just his horrible sense of fraternity boy humor. I stopped being a fan. “

She added that “get up[s] with everyone who performed ”.
Since the allegations of Wood and the other women were made public, Manson has been abandoned by his label Loma Vista and his agent CAA. Loma Vista announced that he was no longer working with the musician in a statement that said: “In light of the disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as her abuser, Loma Vista will no longer promote her current album. [‘We Are Chaos’], with immediate effect.
“Due to these worrying developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.”
NME he contacted Manson’s record company and manager to comment on Bridgers’ claims that the companies and his band were aware of his alleged behavior.
He was also removed from his planned TV roles, with his appearances cut from American gods and the Freak show anthology.
Manson has also been convicted of his former collaborator, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, and Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit – who played guitar for Manson for a year – since news of the allegations surfaced.
