(@crossan_richard)Seeing Evans and Godwin catch him in the opening race is bittersweet after the WRs we gave him last year. It’s like watching your ex-girlfriend end up with a really great new guy who is so much better for her. I need to discuss this with my therapist, maybe
The choice of Patriots’ coach, Bill Belichick, of recipients in these past seasons … well, let’s just say that he won’t be mentioned in his introduction to the Hall of Fame.

Buccaneers 7-0 Packers, 7:41, 1st quarter
Aaron Jones takes a yard on the first descent. He catches the ball again on the next downhill, but gets nowhere when the Tampa Bay defense hits him. 3rd E 9. Shaq Barrett then faces Rodgers for a loss on the next move to end the Green Bay drive. The Packers punt and go for 38 yards to put Tampa Bay on his 27.
20:18
Buccaneers 7-0 Packers, 10:25, 1st quarter
Packers start at their own 25, where Jamaal Williams gets 3 yards. Then Rodgers meets Mercedes Lewis for 14 yards and a first down.
20:16
Buccaneers 7-0 Packers, 10:59, 1st quarter
Bradley Pinion from Buccaneers kicks out and the ball falls into the end zone. This will be a touchback.

(@jeanlucp)@HunterFelt how many years have I been reading the phrase “he is not exactly the quarterback he was” about Tom Brady? I can’t remember! But every time I thought it would be this year, he always went out with the killer pass! I would love to see you against Mahomes at SB!
Yes, I won’t say I did an anti-spell here, but my prediction certainly doesn’t look good at the moment.

Buccaneers Touchdown
Buccaneers 7-0 Packers, 10:59, 1st quarter
Fournette takes three more yards and Brady shoots incomplete. They’re 3rd& 7 at Green Bay 15, which means that’s exactly where Brady seems to like it today. Brady meets Evans for an easy touchdown and just like Tampa Bay is on the board!
The extra point is good and the Pack is already in a 7-0 hole.
20:11
Buccaneers 0-0 Packers, 12:13, 1st quarter
The buccaneers are at Green Bay 32. Fournette takes only one yard in 1st down and Brady’s next pass is incomplete. 3rd & 9. On the third down, Brady once again hits his receiver, which is 14 yards for Chris Godwin.
20:09
Buccaneers 0-0 Packers, 13:38, 1st quarter
Leonard Fournette goes up 3 yards. In 2na And 7, Brady meets Mike Evans for a 27 yard gain! Well, this is a first strike!
20:07
Initial release!
Buccaneers 0-0 Packers, 14:51, 1st quarter
Mason Crosby kicks, Jaydon Mickens takes 29 yards to Tampa Bay 30.

National anthem
An aspect of Covid-19 protections that is still a little strange: having the National Anthem singer appear on the video screen. It is very “Star Trek”.

Mark Harrison
(@MarkIHarrison)Is weird. I personally want a Rodgers / Mahomes Superbowl, but I would also be happy for Tom.
Interestingly, if the Buccaneers win, Brady will be playing in the Super Bowl … in Tampa, which would mean a very rare situation where a team would have an avant-garde at home.

Forecasts
Shouma Khan
(@The_Riverman)Looking forward to this battle of two QBs of all time. If the Bucs manage to keep it closed, I imagine Brady will pull another clutch to win
A shootout would be the most fun result. Although I may regret saying this once, I start to have to control the score here. It’s been a while since my typing fingers had a real workout.

Han️ Kay Hanley
(@kayhanley)Confession: I haven’t watched football this season 😱
This is understandable for a number of reasons.
There was a very real argument that this NFL season shouldn’t have happened, considering the fact that they were trying to play it in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Richard Crossan
(@crossan_richard)For. He may be a Buc for now, but he will enter the Hall of Fame as a Patriot. I’d love to see you win another ring and have the ‘who’s second best after Brady’ debate
It makes sense, no matter what Brady will be remembered as representing New England.
19:45
“Patriots fans: Pro or anti-Brady?” to be continued
Jason G. Mahoney
(@jgmahoney)No matter when, as soon as Pat’s season ends, my brain shifts gears, saying to itself “Launcher and catcher report in X days”
Cyn
(@sindonne)Against.
19:43
As I live in Boston, I thought it would make sense to see if New England Patriots fans are rooting for Tom Brady with his new team. The answers are, unsurprisingly, mixed.
It’s not Jackie Jensen
(@JJensenRF)For. Without hesitation or guilt.
Steve B
(@ Sbennett15)He still watches the playoffs, but totally indifferent to the result.
Rory Murphy
(@Rory_Tealeaf)Packers all the way (I’ve been to Lambeau several times in the past few years with some friends who are die-hard Packer fans, so they became my second team. I also like the fact that they are owned by a fan)
Oh, and I hate the Bucs cos the glaziers ….
For the record, my second team ended up being the Cleveland Browns. No, I don’t know how it happened either, but hey, they at least made it to the playoffs this time.
19:35
Speaking of temperature, it is currently 29 degrees Fahrenheit / -2 degrees Celsius in Lambeau. So it’s still not a big factor, although it will probably get colder as the game progresses.
Glenn E
(@Teng_Solanne)I was in conflict about following this game; then they brought Felt; now I’m engaged.
It is very good to hear that, although I have no responsibility if this game turns out to be a failure.

Forecasts
It seems silly to bet against Tom Brady in a Divisional Game, but this season Brady has shown signs that he is not the quarterback he once was. If the Packers can get it in their pocket, it looks like they could have a relatively easy ticket to the Super Bowl. I feel that having a pitch at home won’t hurt them either, although Brady obviously has a lot of experience in the cold.
If I have to make a prediction, and I think I kind of do it here, I’m saying it’s Packers 28-17 Buccaneers, with a final touchdown by Brady making the final result look closer than it was. Your thoughts? Send them here by email (to [email protected]) or Twitter (@HunterFelt)

Longtime Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, who played with the Seattle Seahawks last season, is part of the FOX broadcast today and apparently will be part of his team in the future, while taking the opportunity to officially mark his NFL retirement. Well, this is an easy way to tell your first great story.
19:20
Preamble
Okay, let’s start with this warning before diving into the NFC championship game: NFL games are not duels between defenders. They are not on the field at the same time, their real competition is the defense of the other team. Still, whenever two great defenders are in the same game, we can’t help but compare how they do, although they don’t directly affect each other’s performance. So the NFC championship game theoretically pits the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Green Bay Packers, but what we’re really here to witness is Tom Brady against Aaron Rodgers.
Plenty is at stake for both defenders. Although Brady played in nine Super Bowls, this is his first year with a team other than the New England Patriots. It would be a big deal for him to take a completely different team to the Big Game without the help of his mentor Bill Belichick (who couldn’t even get his team into the playoffs without Brady). Meanwhile, Rodgers, the presumed NFL MVP this year, has only been to the Super Bowl once before, he only has a touch for Brady’s six.
How did these teams get here? Well, the Packers ended up with the best seed in the NFC, giving them a much needed farewell week. In their division game, they beat the Los Angeles Rams 32-18. The Buccaneers, for their part, entered the playoffs as a Wild Card team and had to beat the Washington Football Team and the New Orleans Saints to get here. Of course, the last time these two teams met, Tampa Bay had its way with Green Bay, beating them 38 to 10 (although this time the Packers have the advantage of playing at home). It would be shocking to see either team put a big advantage against the other this time, since anything is really shocking these days.
Then again, this is a dangerous statement to make before a winner’s playoff game takes it all. Let’s see what happens together. If you would like to contribute to our live blog, feel free to send us your opinions by email (to [email protected]) or Twitter (to @HunterFelt) and we’ll share them with the rest of the world. It’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Theoretically, the game should start at around 2:05 pm EST, but we’ll be back with additional comments before that.

Hunter will be here soon, however here is a guide for today’s game:
What privateers need to do to win: Surprisingly, for two defenders who ruled the NFL for much of the century, there is not much history between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers – this will only be their fourth encounter as a regular. Brady won the previous game, a 38-10 loss in week 6 of this season, when the defense plagued Rodgers all day, firing him five times. Rodgers, who has since been flawless, is unlikely to be bullied again. Therefore, Tampa Bay may have to defeat the Packers in a shootout, hoping that all of their formidable offensive weapons will click at the same time. This will put pressure on Bucs reserve Aaron Stinnie, who made his first NFL debut against the Saints last week (and did very well).
What Packers need to do to win: Like Buccaneers, Packers have a weakened offensive line. He held out well against the league’s best defense, the Rams, last week, but Los Angeles’ biggest threat, Aaron Donald, was hampered by a rib injury. Rodgers has been so good this year that it’s hard to see him being defeated by the Buccaneers if he gets enough protection. Some have argued that the cold Lambeau Field will give the Packers a big advantage over a warm climate team like Tampa Bay. But Tom Brady played a lot of games in the New England winter and it seemed to work well for him.
Main player: Rob Gronkowski, tight end, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gronk’s best days are behind him and he is no longer the unstoppable force of a few years ago. Therefore, his importance in this game does not lie so much in his abilities, but against whom he faces. If Packers have an obvious weakness, it’s linebackers. Look for Brady to return to a family safety blanket and find Gronk in the middle of the field while the game continues.
Prediction: Packers. The Buccaneers struggled to get rid of 7-9 Washington in the wildcard round and were helped by a series of Drew Brees twists against the Saints last week. Brady and his new teammates freeze much more than they did at the beginning of the season, but they are not yet the threat they should be, due to their talent. I don’t think they’re on a level where they can beat Rodgers and Davante Adams this time.
