Man accused of drunk driving faces 9 criminal charges in Taylor accident that killed a 12-year-old girl

TAYLOR, Mich. – A 20-year-old man accused of driving while intoxicated now faces nine criminal charges after a fatal accident in Taylor.

Noah Gary Damron was charged in Wayne County on Friday for his involvement in a car accident that killed a 12-year-old girl earlier in the week.

On Wednesday, February 3, Phoebe Elliot, 12, was a passenger in her aunt’s vehicle, traveling west on Northline Road. Authorities say his vehicle was slowly crossing Telegraph Road when a Ford Escape, operated by Damron, traveling south on Telegraph Road, passed a red light and collided with the vehicle.

Elliot performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the scene and was then transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The authorities say that Damron was under influence when the red light passed.
