Following Gina Carano’s controversial social media posts, Lucasfilm released a statement tonight, with a spokesperson saying “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. However, their posts on social media denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are disgusting and unacceptable. “
Carano played bounty hunter Cara Dune for the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, and it looked like we would see more of her. It seems not.
The actress shared a post Tik Tok, a comparison of the divided political climate with Nazi Germany.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors … even by children. As the story is edited, most people today do not realize that, to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily arrest thousands of Jews, the government first caused its own neighbors to hate them simply because they were Jews. How different this is from hating someone for their political opinions, ”she wrote.

Another photo in Carano’s Instagram story had a person with several masks covering his face and head with the caption “Meanwhile in California”.
Both posts were deleted from the actress’ Instagram this afternoon, however, other people picked them up and posted again (see below). Other posts, including a quote saying “Expecting everyone you meet to agree with every belief or vision you have is fucking crazy” and one saying “Jeff Epstein didn’t kill himself”, remained.
The hashtag #FireGinaCarano started to be a trend, along with social media tags Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau, Disney, Disney Plus, Star Wars and Lucasfilm.
Carano and his supporters tried to bring the hashtag #weloveginacarano to fashion, but without success. Carano retweeted the post below on her account.

Carano has already dusted off social media with comments about wearing masks and electoral fraud. In November 2020, she scoffed at those who use preferred pronouns on social media, listing “beep / bop / boop” in her Twitter bio. The action came out as transphobic. Later, she walked back, saying that Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal. “It helped me to understand why people put them in their biographies. I didn’t know before, but now I know. I’m not going to put them in my bio, but it’s good for all of you to choose. I am against bullying, especially the most vulnerable and freedom of choice ”.
Carano gained fame as an MMA fighter competing in Strikeforce and EliteXC. She retired from MMA competition and started acting, one of her first releases was the 2011 Steven Soderbergh film Haywire. She went on to star Fast & Furious 6 and Dead Pool, playing Angel Dust in the last Marvel / 20th Century Fox R-rated movie.
