Justin Bieber released the music video for his latest single “Anyone” on New Year’s Day, while singing the song live to a virtual audience.

The video shows Bieber training as a boxer alongside Zoey Deutch, who plays his loving partner.

Directed by Collin Tilley, the video for “Anyone” has a retro feel, with Deutch and Bieber wearing period clothes and Bieber drinking raw eggs while training.

The grand finale of the video shows Bieber being knocked down during a championship fight, but he manages to recover and find the strength to win the competition thinking about his love for Deutch.

Adding to the old-fashioned feel of the video, Bieber has temporarily removed a trademark from his modern look: his tattoos.

Bieber covered all the tattoos on his arms, legs, torso, neck and face for the video.

The “Yummy” singer has more than 60 tattoos, according to J-14, so temporarily hiding them has made a dramatic difference in his appearance.

The process was also time-consuming, as Bieber later showed his fans.

The singer shared a time-lapse video on Instagram of the tattoos being covered.

“No tattoos for the video #Anyone”, he captioned the post.

In the video, Bieber sits on a chair in Calvin Klein boxer briefs while makeup artists cover his tattoos.

He has to get up at some points for the makeup artists to reach all their paint, and they manage to make it look like he has nothing on his skin.

Fans flocked to the comments section to express their views on his transformation.

“It’s so weird to see you without tattoos,” wrote jbiebertracker, a fan account.

“IT’S LIKE 2020,” wrote juzzybieber6, nodding at Bieber’s appearance early in his career.

Bieber has been adding to his tattoo collection for years, and he even explained the meaning behind his tattoo on the neck of a flower in the YouTube special, “Justin Bieber: Next Chapter”, which was released in October 2020.

“I think the thorns symbolize the difficult points in my life,” said Bieber of the plant. “The flower is a representation of beauty.”

“I think I’m sick of my neck,” added the singer. “This is a request from Hailey,” he said, speaking of his wife, Hailey Rhode Bieber.
