“It is with great sadness that all fans of my dear and incredible mother know that she passed away peacefully … at her home in Los Angeles,” wrote Adam Ellwood on Facebook, quoted by Extra.

According to the media, Adam shared that Henry died surrounded by Erin, his son Jeff Ellwood, as well as his hospice nurse.

“Please raise a glass and a toast to our beautiful mother Gloria Henry for a life well lived,” he wrote.

For four seasons, starting in 1959, Henry starred as the loving mother Alice Mitchell in “Dennis the Menace”, which also featured Herbert Anderson as her husband and Jay North as his mischievous son. The show was based on the comic book character of Hank Ketcham, noted The Hollywood Reporter.

“A lot of fans say, ‘Oh, I always wished you were my mom’ and ‘My mom was jealous of you because I wanted you as a mom,'” Henry said later in an interview in 2011. “Which is a lot funny, because I don’t think my own kids felt that way. I have a daughter and two kids. All they knew was that I was going to work and I wasn’t with them as much as they were.

In the mid-1960s, Henry took a break from acting and did not return to the screen until 1981’s “The Brady Brides”, a comedy that told the story of Marcia Brady Logan (Maureen McCormick) and Jan Brady Covington (Eve Plumb) and their lives as newlyweds with their husbands. Henry has worked continuously over the years and has left his mark on successful TV shows like “Newhart”, “Dallas” and “Doogie Howser, MD”, among others.

Henry’s last credited role was that of Mary-Elizabeth Clinch in 2012’s “Parks and Recreation”.

Henry was married to architect Craig Ellwood from 1949 to 1977. He died in 1992, People magazine reported. She leaves her three children behind.
