Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee Bucks ruled out against Indiana Pacers with sprained left knee

The Milwaukee Bucks will not have Giannis Antetokounmpo against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night after the consecutive league MVP was dropped due to a sprained left knee.

Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said he was “hopeful” that Antetokounmpo’s absence will be short.

“We will see how he will do it in the next day or two,” said Budenholzer.

Antetokounmpo was injured early in Milwaukee’s 120-113 victory over San Antonio on Saturday. His status for the next Bucks game, against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday in Milwaukee, remains unknown.

“We will see what the next few days will look like and make the decisions that are best for him,” said Budenholzer. “And keep it really healthy, but there are no decisions on Wednesday from now on.”
