And Ellen DeGeneres admitted that his wife Portia de Rossi has been ‘my rock’ over the years, as they starred on the cover of the first annual edition of People’s Love.
The 63-year-old comedian revealed that Portia ‘kept me going’ while her world was turned upside down during a toxic workplace scandal last year, after employees reported negative experiences on their self-titled interview program.
Ellen responded to accusations by current employees and former employees that she had promoted a toxic work environment and apologized during her program’s opening monologue last season.
‘It broke my heart; I couldn’t have gone through everything I went through without her, ‘admitted DeGeneres. ‘It was a horrible time in my life, and she was a rock. She encouraged me and tried to help me put things in perspective.
Being under lock and quarantine during the pandemic – Ellen also tested positive for COVID-19 in December and has since recovered – brought the pair even closer.
