WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) – For dog owner Ashley Swinton, it was a moving discovery. Someone delivering food to your home for Door Dash went out with her 8-week-old puppy named Bella.
Police say the dog-napper later confessed to the crime of stealing the dog when they found it.
“The video evidence in this case is very convincing,” says Det. Brian Price with Warren police.
Swinton told what he saw in the dog abduction video.

“You can see her pet the dog (and) rub the dog to see if it was cruel,” said Swinton.
It happened on New Year’s Day at his home in Rivard, near Van Dyke.
“This is a new one even for me,” said Det. Price. “It is very shocking when you watch the video and see it happening right in front of you.”
It was good police work that led to the arrest. Charges are expected to be made soon.
“They admitted to stealing the dog,” said Detective Price. “I recovered the dog from the scene. Still in good health. We give it back to the family. “
The name of the 26-year-old suspect has not yet been released.
Bella is very happy to be home with her family tonight. They say they are very grateful to Warren’s police for their hard work, taking the dog back to their children.
