CEO John Poulos confirmed on CNN’s “New Day” that the company would take legal action against several individuals “promoting lies and amplifying those lies … on various media platforms since election day”.
Asked if Dominion anticipates taking legal action against Trump himself, Poulos said the company “will absolutely investigate everyone who made, repeated and amplified false statements that were defamatory and detrimental to our company and our election.”
Pressed again on whether that would include the president, Poulos replied, “We are not going to ignore anyone.”
CNN contacted the White House for comment.
Poulos said on Thursday that these are “complete lies” and that the company hopes to “show and prove it in court”.
“I am hiding because I received many death threats and this is ongoing. My entire family, their private information was posted online in what is known as doxing. All of my private information was released online. People took pictures of my home, people threatened come and lynch me, behead me, they referred to me as a traitor. It’s not safe for me, you know, to continue my daily life, “said Coomer, who added that he is on leave from work due to issues of safety.
Coomer said he wants to “clear things up and try to restore my reputation” and that “people need to be held accountable”.
Dominion herself is not part of the Coomer lawsuit, but Poulos told CNN on Thursday that hearing about Coomer’s situation made him “angry” and said the allegations against Dominion affected all of his employees.
“All of our employees have been forced to remove as much public information as they can, for fear of their own safety since election day. It is really unprecedented. And it is something that makes us very angry, ”he said.
Poulos said the “damage was really immeasurable” with the allegations and has “caused serious doubts” among Americans about the United States’ electoral system.
Poulos told CNN that Dominion’s technology has been holding successful elections for years and years and that Georgia voters “must trust the system”, pointing to the paper ballots of the machines that can then be used in a limitation audit risk.
There is no evidence that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, and his government and election officials considered it the “safest” election in the history of the United States. Biden won the popular vote by more than 7 million votes and the electoral map by 306 to 232.
