The Irish children’s star starred in all eight Harry Potter films, starting in 2001, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

He followed the series to the end, when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 ended the films in 2011, accumulating a net worth of € 1.2 million [approx £1 million].

He reportedly spent that money on ‘cars, drinks and girls’ amid the height of his fame, as claimed by his mother in 2016, when the family was sued by the former Devon agent for € 286,000.

Agent Neil Brooks was fired by the family for allegedly failing to cope with the bad publicity he received after being photographed smoking on the set of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2004, aged 13, in his Hogwarts school uniform.

Devon’s mother told the Supreme Court at the trial that Brooks was fired because ‘there were abuses heaping on his shoulders around the world and there were no agents there. All the newspapers, on the internet, pictures of a child smoking ‘.

She said: ‘Your job was to protect the child. That’s why he was fired. He didn’t do that! ‘

The case also drew attention to allegations that Devon made demands on the set, such as a driver, a Lexus, an apartment for his entire family to live in and a sound system in his trailer.

The legal issue also contested an alleged increase in commission imposed by the agent.

It seems that Devon hasn’t focused much on acting since his days fighting Voldemort.

He is only credited for participating in a 2017 music video and the 2018 film Damo & Ivor: The Movie, based on an Irish TV show.

This was criticized critically, however, with The Irish Times criticizing him for being inundated with “horrible jokes at the expense of working class losers”.
