Demi Burnett, the bachelor, alleges ‘ignorance’ and apologizes for wearing a jacket with the Confederate flag

Demi Burnett, the single nation’s favorite, apologized after images of her wearing a jacket with the Confederacy flag surfaced earlier this week.

The 25-year-old reality show star used Twitter to explain herself on Monday night, telling people that she “fucked real badly” and was “ignorant” to “pay no attention” to the symbol on her jacket, that was from Kanye West Marca Yeezy.

Demi approached the drama head-on, explaining how she chose to clear things up, despite the fact that her ‘PR team told me to ignore and act like nothing happened.’

‘… I don’t like that,’ she continued. “I’m sorry for my ignorance.”

She started the couple of videos by saying, ‘So, there’s a photo that came out of me wearing a jacket that had a Confederate flag on it.’

“The jacket was given to me by my ex – his father actually gave it to me – and I had no idea how heavy the Confederate flag was whenever I was wearing it.”

‘And I just wore it that night, it was a Yeezy jacket, I thought it was so cool, I said,’ Yes, Yeezy! ‘And I don’t even like to pay attention to that. This is ignorance. I am unaware of my not paying attention to the Confederate flag.

The jacket designer, Kanye West, explained why he used the flag in 2013, telling the Los Angeles radio station 97.1 that it was to provoke a reaction.

‘React as you wish. Any energy is good energy, ‘explained the rapper from Yeezus.

“You know that the Confederacy flag represented slavery in a way, this is my abstract opinion about what I know about it. So I made the song New Slaves. So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag. What will you do now? ‘

“Like, yes, I really get annoyed using this,” Burnett continued.

‘And I’m really sorry. Like, I’m disgusted with myself. I’m embarrassed. It doesn’t even matter how I feel. I’m sorry, because that’s not what I stand for, that’s not what I am. And I’m really angry that I used that. ‘

She continued to reflect on her bad behavior in the past, saying, ‘I have been an ignorant, self-centered, shitty bag for most of my life.’

Because I suck. And I really hate myself, like, for being ignorant. Because this is the time to change the world, make it better, and I made it worse. So, I’m really sorry. ‘

Demi’s apology comes after longtime host of The Bachelor franchise Chris Harrison announced that he would ‘walk away’ after making comments ‘excusing historical racism’.

He said he was ‘ashamed’ of how ‘uninformed’ he was while defending competitor Rachel Kirkconnell over accusations of racist intimidation, as well as photos of a themed plantation party she attended in college.

“I have no one to blame but myself for what I said and the way I said it,” he shared on Instagram.

“Excusing historical racism, I defended it. I invoked the term “woke up the police”, which is unacceptable. I’m ashamed of how uninformed I was. I was so wrong. ‘

Kirkconnell – a pioneer in the current season of Matt James – also offered an apology on his Instagram, writing: ‘Although there were rumors circulating, there were also truths that surfaced that I need to address. I heard you and I’m here to say I was wrong.

‘At one point, I didn’t recognize how offensive and racist my actions were, but that doesn’t excuse them. My age or when it happened does not excuse anything. They are not acceptable or ok in any way. I was ignorant, but my ignorance was racist. ‘

‘I am sorry to the communities and individuals that my actions have harmed and offended. I’m ashamed of my lack of education, but it’s not anyone’s responsibility to educate me.

‘I am learning and I will continue to learn to be anti-racist, because it is important to speak at the moment and not after being called.’
