Bachelor Nation members are calling James McCoy Taylor for participating in the “Save America” rally, which turned into a riot when protesters stormed the Capitol.
Taylor, an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, appeared on JoJo Fletchers’ 2016 season of “The Bachelorette”, but has since angered others on the ABC dating show. The crux of his criticism comes from a tweet shared by Taylor last week, which suggests that ABC and the producers behind the reality show agreed to his presence at the controversial event.
“Many thanks to the #TheBachelor family for supporting me during that time … from top to bottom,” He wrote. “Conservative producers are the best !! Thanks @ABCNetwork @ABC & @BachelorABC for supporting while I legally supported our president.”
It is not clear whether McCoy was among the group that breached the security of the Capitol building on January 6, while the Senate met to certify the electoral college’s votes in the November election. However, he spent the days leading up to the January 6 meeting in Washington, DC, encouraging his followers come “fight for a man who has been fighting for you for 4 years.”

Representatives for “The Bachelorette” did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
However, Ben Higgins, who starred in “The Bachelor” in 2016, told Insider that Taylor is simply lying about the show and the network being fine with his participation.
“It was a dark day in American history and he was there for that and is still being promoted through him. I can’t say that he and I have anything in common,” he told the outlet. “However, he is representing ‘The Bachelor’ and I think he went further in saying that ‘The Bachelor’ supported his efforts to do that – this is wrong! And he is lying.”

“It didn’t happen. Nobody supported him in that. He’s lying and lying is not a cool thing to do. I don’t know why he’s doing this,” added Higgins.
The vehicle notes that, in addition to Higgins’ rebuke of Taylor’s tweet, series creator Mike Fleiss did not measure words when discussing Taylor’s presence in what has become an uproar.

Former “Bachelorette” star Rachel Lindsay, who has spoken openly about the show incorporating more diversity into her cast, replied that tweet writing: “Reason # 4853569536 we have to do better with the casting.”
