Former “Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise” alumnus Demi Burnett logged on to Twitter to apologize for a photo of her reappearing wearing a Confederate flag jacket.
The star was seen in an old photo wearing a green jacket with the flag, which many believe to be synonymous with racism and slavery, patched on the right arm. When the image started circulating online, Burnett went to Twitter to share an apology video.
“People are telling me that I shouldn’t say anything, I will say something about it,” she started one of two videos. “So, there is a photo that resurfaced of me wearing a jacket with a Confederate flag. That jacket was given to me by my ex. Your father actually gave it to me. I had no idea how heavy the Confederate flag always had I was using. I only used it that night. “
She noted that the jacket was Kanye West’s Yeezy brand, which she thought was cool at the time.

In 2013, People reported that West displayed the flag on several pieces of clothing of its brand at the time, in an effort to claim the symbol for the black community.
