Amanda Kloots is once again being sincere and deeply personal with her followers. The TV personality reflected on the start of the new year with an exciting post about his difficult holiday season after the death of her husband, Nick Cordero, due to COVID-19 in July.
“The New Year has been difficult, extremely difficult for me. I cried more recently than some time ago,” wrote Kloots in a post shared in his Instagram story on Saturday. “I thought Christmas would be difficult, that was worse.”
“I think it’s because when the new year comes you want a clean slate or forget about last year, esp 2020. But, I can’t forget about last year and I won’t be able to clean that slate,” Kloots continued. “I also think I’m a little scared about what can happen in a year, how much things can change.”
Kloots also shared that she feels that “everything I’ve been through is finally catching up with me and I’m finally ready to go to therapy to deal with the trauma”.
Kloots and Cordero were married in September 2017 and welcomed their son, Elvis, in June 2019. Cordero was hospitalized with COVID-19 in April and, after a three-month roller coaster of medical operations and setbacks, the Broadway actor died on July 5
Kloots continued his emotional message, writing: “I share all this as my continued honesty about pain and loss. How it comes and goes, changes a lot. How it hides and then finds you. How it’s a journey, not just a week. How it is an ongoing struggle even while I remain positive and active. How you can cry for a few days for two seconds or two hours. How it makes you feel so alone and confused. “
“Being honest, recognizing all of this instead of hiding, helped me. I hope it helps you,” he concluded.

During the holidays, Kloots reflected on the difficulties she faced this year and the death of her husband. On Christmas Eve, she posted a setback for her and Cordero celebrating their first Christmas with their son.
Last month, Kloots was announced as a new co-host of “The Talk”. She, along with Elaine Welteroth, will join the current hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Carrie Ann Inaba.
