Young Thug sparked the hip-hop nation’s ire when he stated that Jay-Z doesn’t have 30 songs that people can recite from memory like fans can do with their own songs.

Young Thug made the bizarre statement on Gillie Da Kid’s “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast on Tuesday, December 28, 2020. Although in a self-congratulatory mood, born 29-year-old rapper Jeffrey Lamar Williams was obviously not trying insinuate yourself with the legends of the game. Just a month ago, Thugger also insulted the luminary Andre 3000 from the pioneering rap group OutKast, saying he “never paid any attention to him”. Both were raised in Atlanta.

Now Thug has tried to say that he has more memorable successes than Jay. He said that although he has at least 30 hits that make the concert crowds go crazy, he said “Jay-Z doesn’t have 30 songs like that”.

Thug’s smug posture immediately softened when he noticed the questioning look etched on Gillie’s face. Philly’s rapper Gillie tried to respond diplomatically when he said that Jay-Z “won a lot”.

That was when Young Thug tried to back down quickly from his statement about Jay.

“I’m just saying, I know he has, he probably has 50 of them,” said Thug. β€œI am not literally saying it. I’m saying n β€”- that’s who you’re thinking about … “
