PS Plus continues to offer “free” games to subscribers and, in recent months, has started offering PlayStation 5 games. If you don’t have a PS5 yet impossible to find, you’re not exactly SOL. You only need to claim these games through a web browser.

For $ 10 a month (or $ 60 a year), PS Plus allows members to play online. In addition, subscribers receive monthly games at no extra cost. (These games are only “free” if you stay signed up. Stop paying your debts and you’ll lose access.) It’s not always worth writing about the offers, but every now and then, PS Plus will put on some real gems. The past few months have allowed players to add tastes to Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Fall of greed, and Fall Guys to your PS4 libraries.

Since the launch of the PS5 in November, Sony has made PS5 games available to PS Plus members as well. The first was Bugsnax, the crazy puzzle-adventure game with edible insects. In February, the derby game AllStars Destruction—Initially programmed as a $ 70 PS5 launch title – has been made available, where you can still claim it until April 6. (After that, you can buy it for $ 20.) This month, the wonderful Model, a recursive puzzle game about love and heartbreak, is available on PS5.

The easiest way to obtain these titles is through the PS5 itself, as the console panel has a built-in PS Plus portal. Just click on a few buttons and the game you want will appear in your digital library. If you don’t have a PS5 on which you can actually do this, you can claim your games through a browser.

  1. First, go to Sony landing page for PS Plus monthly games.
  2. Click on “learn more” for the game you want, which will take you to the store page.
  3. If you are connected to the store with the same PlayStation account that signed up for PS Plus, the price tag must be crossed out. Instead of a “Buy” button, you should see an “Add to library” icon. Click on that.

When you finally get a PS5, you’ll see all of your claimed games in the console’s game library.

However, there is a small problem with cross-generation games. For example, Model is available on PS4 and PS5 (and, yes, PC). If you download it via PS Plus, you will only get the PS5 version. To play on PS4, you need to purchase a copy. When Kotaku I tested this workaround with Model, the game did not appear in our PS4 library, but we managed to download it on a PS5.

A PS5 exclusive game, such as AllStars Destruction, will not be playable on your PS4, but you already knew that.

It may take a while before you can really get your hands on a PS5. With this workaround, at least you will be able to start running with a handful of killer games.
