Microsoft has been trying hard to win the hearts of the Japanese public in recent years, and this week, they tried something new to announce the Xbox Game Pass.

The Japanese arm of the Xbox worked with the popular virtual YouTubers Shishiro Botan and Himemori Luna to announce the service, showcasing the advantages and features of the Game Pass (including the recent acquisition of Bethesda) and gameplay from Gears 5, Control, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Forza Horizon 4.

Shishiro Botan is part of the popular agency Hololive vTuber. Belonging to the 5th generation, she is relatively new. Having just debuted in August 2020, it gained popularity very quickly, currently counting more than 700,000 subscribers on its channel.

The stream had 106,845 views and the audience certainly seemed to like it, with over 10,000 likes versus just 52 dislikes.

Himemori Luna is the fourth generation of Hololive, having debuted in January 2020. She has more than 500,000 subscribers and her stream was watched by 108,769 people, currently with more than 11,000 likes and only 46 not liked.

Following the waifu path is certainly not a bad idea to attract Japanese players. We must not forget that Xbox One used to be a very popular platform among visual novel developers at that time. In addition, Shishiro Botan’s appearance and style seem somewhat appropriate for the Xbox.

You can check out the entire live stream below and see if you like it. It will be interesting to see if this will continue along the line.
