The Wyoming Carbon County Republican Party voted unanimously to censor Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., For voting with nine other House Republicans to impeach President Trump on charges of “inciting an insurrection”.
This censorship resolution was submitted for consideration by the Wyoming Republican Party State Central Committee.
“Congresswoman Cheney violated her voters’ confidence, failed to faithfully represent a large majority of motivated voters in Wyoming and neglected her duty to represent the party and the will of the people who elected her to represent them,” the resolution said.
The Wyoming Republican Party has already condemned Cheney for the vote and demanded that she “explain” her vote at the next meeting.
“In announcing her decision to vote for impeachment, Representative Cheney denied President Trump due process; she judged the ‘evidence’ before it was presented and refused to listen to the arguments presented,” said the Wyoming Republican Party in a statement. last week.

Cheney is not the only Republican who voted for impeachment to face a negative reaction – although she is the most senior. Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., Is facing criticism from her district’s conservative base. Washington County’s Clark County Republican Women group has pledged to support a primary challenge to Herrera Beutler over the impeachment vote. Herrera Beutler district includes Clark County.
“If you vote for impeachment, you will never receive our support or votes again at any time in the future,” said Clark County Republican Women in a letter to Herrera Beutler. “In addition, we will do everything in our power as the largest organization of Republican Women in the state of Washington to recruit and elect a conservative candidate who will represent our values.”
