Two women who dressed up to look adult to receive the coronavirus vaccine were rejected and issued warnings of invasion in Orlando, officials said.
Dr. Raul Pino, an Orange County state health officer, said the women disguised themselves on Wednesday with hats, gloves and glasses.
Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Michelle Guido told Orlando Sentinel that women have changed their birth years in vaccination records to bypass the state system, which prioritizes people aged 65 and over. It looked like the women had landed the first shot, but it was unclear where.
“Their names correspond to the record, but not to the dates of birth,” she told the newspaper.
The women were 35 and 45, officials said in a press release.
Department of Health officials asked MPs to issue notices of trespassing.
In a video provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy can be heard saying, “You stole a vaccine from someone who needs it more than you do.”
Guido said the warning means that they cannot return to the convention center for any reason – including vaccine, COVID-19 test, convention or show. If they return, they can be arrested.
Pino said the Department of Health investigation will try to determine where they were vaccinated before and how they got an appointment. He said the department would “try to find out if there is a loophole, a loophole in the process that allows people to do that.”
