Who remembers S&H green stamps?

When I was a kid, I was fascinated by S&H Green Stamps. They were small black and green stamps of official appearance that were distributed in supermarkets and other retailers, gas stations and even inside cigarette packs.

Would you store your stamps in Saver Books and then you would buy on S&H green stamp ideas book to rescue your carefully collected stamps. There were even physical stores where you could exchange your stamp books for products.

There were always cool things in the Book of Ideas, like chemistry sets, telescopes, home cinema equipment, camping equipment, bicycles and other objects of a young nerd’s desire. Hmmm… 26 stamp books to get this Super 8 film camera and 10 books to get this 750x rad microscope? I may need to start smoking!

The Green Seals were launched in the 1930s, appeared in the 60s and 70s and disappeared in the 1980s.
