Promising young woman it has been one of the most talked about films of the year since its debut at the Sundance Festival this winter. Starring Carey Mulligan, the film is the ultimate revenge tale for the Me Too era. In it, Cassie (Mulligan) is a modern watchman, instructing predatory men everywhere about her crimes. It is unlike anything that came before and is sure to shock audiences when it comes out in theaters on Christmas Day. But when will Promising young woman be available to broadcast?
So far there is no concrete answer. As mentioned before, Promising young woman opens on Christmas Day 2020 in select cinemas, according to Vanity Fair. It will be one of the few films trying to get people out of their homes and into theaters. However, unlike some of these films (such as Wonder Woman 1984), Promising young woman does not yet have a defined streaming debut date. That means that when it opens on December 25th, the only place you can see Promising young woman is in theaters – that is, for now.
In July, AMC Theaters and Universal Pictures (the studio behind Promising young woman) reached an agreement to considerably reduce the waiting time needed between the release of a movie in theaters and its inevitable debut on streaming platforms. Where before there was a three-month delay between platform launches, there are now only 17 days of waiting, according to Vulture .
So, knowing that, you can expect Promising young woman to start broadcasting sometime in early January 2021, with January 11 being the first to make its debut. But without a formal announcement, it is on the air when it will be officially available for broadcast.
