When Valheim arrives on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S?

If you pay close attention to game news, you will have a hard time not having heard Valheim at this point. The new survival game was released in early February and started to set the PC world on fire. However, if you play mostly on consoles, you may be wondering when Valheim you can go to the platform of your choice. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you should expect a release anytime soon.

In a statement given to GameSpot, developer Iron Gate AB said that there are currently no plans to bring Valheim for consoles. That said, the studio left the door a little open by stating that “everything is an option at this stage”. So while it may be something that may happen in the future, Iron Gate is apparently not looking to make console ports out of Valheim in the immediate future.

Still, this is not as bad as it may seem. Many games that started out as PC-exclusive in the past seem to someday hit consoles. And although we cannot say definitively that the same will happen with Valheim, history tells us that there is a good chance that this will happen one day.

In the meantime, Iron Gate is probably a lot busier just trying to do Valheim works well for players you already own. The early access title has already sold millions of copies on the PC, which means that Iron Gate certainly has a much larger player base at its disposal than was initially expected. As the company continues to bring the game closer to its 1.0 iteration, perhaps its stance on console ports will begin to change.

For now, Valheim in its current form it continues to be updated regularly. In fact, one of the most recent updates to the game has even made some bosses a little more difficult.
