What Buffalo Dills’ Brian Daboll said about head coach rumors

Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is already a hot commodity and his team is still playing.

While the Bills (13-3) continue their season in their Wild Card clash on Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts (11-5), more than half of the NFL will not do the same. Their seasons are over and several of these teams have already made changes.

These movements across the league have many in western New York on alert. Some think Bills could lose Daboll’s services soon and no one really wants that, considering the steps that Bills’ attack and quarterback Josh Allen took in 2020.

However, Daboll already had interview requests from the Jets and Chargers, so there is a real possibility that he will be hired by another team to be his next coach.

Even as the rumor swirled more and more each day, on Monday during his weekly video conference, Daboll talked about taking a chance on these jobs. Although grateful, he tried to assure Buffalo that he is focused on the task at hand.

“I appreciate the question. We have a very important job to do here in a short week. All I’ll do with our team is focus on the Colts, ”said Daboll. “Humiliated by this, but focused on what we have to do here.”

“You have a tremendous challenge ahead of you. You better focus, ”added Daboll.

The Bills will certainly not have a victory against the Colts, even if they are the favorites of the near touchdown. The hope of Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott, like many, is that Daboll will not be distracted by having interviews scheduled after the next game. Teams cannot speak to Daboll until after the Bills-Colts game, but it will still be on your mind.

Of course, of course, McDermott has been nothing short of supporting Daboll, potentially getting a show.

“When you win, people want a piece of the winners,” said McDermott earlier this week.

Pretentious? Perhaps. Need? Well, he’s right …
