Rumors of Android 12 are picking up pace. As the possible launch of the developer’s first preview approaches, we’re getting more glimpses of what future Android phones can earn.

Judging by the many leaks so far, we understand that Google has defined privacy, usability and aesthetics as key factors for improvement.

The recently leaked screenshots suggest that a revamped privacy system will allow users to better control app permissions and app access to major sensors. Google is also apparently enhancing its Android 12 user interface, adding wider color palettes to themes that match the selected wallpaper. In addition, adding ART as a Mainline module will ensure that updates are more easily distributed among manufacturers. Improvements for players are also in the cards, while phones with low storage capacity can also help.

These are just some of the feature rumors set to reach Google’s next mobile operating system. But what are your impressions of Android 12 so far? Overall, Android 12 doesn’t seem like a revolutionary leap from its predecessor. While an iterative step can be considered a good thing, is this what Android users really want?
