“Incredible rare rehearsal videos by John G. Avildsen. He filmed the entire film with a video camera before using a frame from the film,” wrote Ralston. “I downloaded all the clips he had on his personal YouTube channel and consolidated them into a 2-hour clip. My curator side was concerned that, since John died in 2017, that footage could eventually be lost.”

The rehearsal video also includes some scenes excluded from the original Karate Kid, which debuted in 1984. Avildsen, who passed away in 2017, directed all the originals karate Kid movies, which were restarted after the restart, including the popular Netflix show Snake Kai.
