Tomorrow will mark a week until WandaVision finally debuts on Disney +! Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are hungry for new content, and the series looks like it will be exactly what it takes to get people excited for Phase Four again. There has been a lot of speculation about the next series, with people looking for tips whenever they can. A few months ago, a fan noticed that a bottle of wine featured in the show’s trailer was labeled Maison du Mépris, which translates into English as House of Desprezo. This made people wonder if “House” and “Mépris” together should be a reference to House of M, one of the greatest stories of the Scarlet Witch from Marvel Comics. During a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen was asked about the apparent easter egg.
“This bottle of wine,” said Kimmel, showing the bottle on the screen. “Says Maison du Mépris. That translates to ‘House of Misery'”. Olsen laughed at Kimmel, before adding: “What could be saying that the series is based on the popular comic book House of M, in which Wanda collapsed. “
Olsen has a lot of practice in avoiding Marvel spoilers, so instead of confirming or denying the House of M rumor, she just praised “our prop guy Russell.” Olsen joked, “Russell would be a very, very smart man if he put that on.” Kimmel replied, “So, no? Interesting.” You can watch the clip below:
Read the official description for WandaVision down here: “WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany and marks the first Marvel Studios series broadcast exclusively on Disney +. The series is a mix of classic television and Marvel’s cinematic universe, in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two superpowered beings who live idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that not everything is as it seems. “
