‘WandaVision’ recap Episode 3: Elizabeth Olsen explains Wanda [Spoiler]

This post contains spoilers for WandaVisionthird episode of. If you haven’t seen it yet, look away.

WandaVision, in its first episodes, it takes place in a lunatic sitcom world, where things are clearly not as perfect as they seem. Delicious nods to classic shows like The Dick Van Dyke exposure and Bewitched they seem to camouflage a more sinister reality – remember that strange bloodstained moment with Dottie in episode 2? And this week, it appears that the titular heroine of the Disney + series is finally discovering this mysterious existence.

At the end of episode 3, Wanda’s highly accelerated pregnancy results in a beautiful surprise for her and Vision: Gemini, called Tommy and Billy. The experience of delivering not one, but two babies awakens Wanda’s memory of his own twin, Pietro, who was played in the cinema by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and who died while protecting Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s the first time in the series that Wanda seems to remember anything about his past and, according to Elizabeth Olsen, this is just the beginning.

“The experience of having just gone through real birth – like an experience of real birth, because they are real breathing creatures that she gave birth to [Laughs] – I think that’s what awakened that memory that was crushed, ”said Olsen to TVLine. “It starts to really connect with those memories that are not on the surface. And we will continue to watch her discover more of these types of moments. “

But Wanda would you like remember? All signs point to no. Before the sudden delivery, Vision pointed to a pattern of flaws in his seemingly idyllic world, including his neighbor Herb, unintentionally, sawing a brick wall with a hedge cutter. But as soon as Vision started to evaluate all that strangeness, a “jump” in the video rewound us a little, covering up his presentation.

Likewise, when Geraldine, at the end of the episode, noticed that Wanda’s twin, Pietro, had been killed by Ultron, Wanda seemed uncomfortable with the harsh reality injection. A single tear ran down her cheek before she questioned Geraldine about her true identity. Before…

Well, we didn’t see exactly what came next. But as soon as Vision came back inside and found that Geraldine was suddenly gone and Wanda annoyed / even satisfied, we saw Teyonah Parris’s character go through some kind of digital membrane that is surrounding Westview and land in a grassy field adjacent to a camp. (SWORD?) erected outside the suburban enclave – implying that it is, in fact (SPOILER ALERT, although the MCU announced it in July 2019) an adult Monica Rambeau, as in the daughter of Captain MarvelAir Force pilot Maria Rambeau.
