After years of rumors, the February Pokémon presentation finally confirmed that Pokémon Diamond and Pearl is getting a remake of the switch. Developed by ILCA Inc, the remake will take us back to Sinnoh again later this year, along with that of 2022 Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
The game drew attention by using a chibi art style, chosen to ensure that games are “faithfully reproduced and revitalized with color”, recreating that original sense of scale. Evidently, this choice left many fans unhappy, and the 3D Artist Millennium created his own “reimagined” version of this revelation.
Bringing us a two-minute concept trailer, it shows Sinnoh with a similar 3D approach to Sword and shield. You can identify some familiar faces, such as the leader of Galactic Team Cyrus, the champion of Elite Four Cynthia, and there is also a brief scene with Dialga and Palkia.
Considering that these 4th generation remakes were confirmed just two weeks ago, it is hard not to admire the effort put behind this conceptual trailer. Whatever your views on Brilliant diamond and brilliant pearlat the very least, it gives an interesting insight into what could have been.
