Urban Meyer reveals how he sees Alabama-Ohio state performance

We are less than a week from the national championship game between No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Ohio State. Both teams come into the game with a lot of firepower on either side of the ball, and it’s becoming a good game in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Monday night.

The Crimson Tide (11-0) comes from a Rose Bowl semi-final win by 31-17 over No. 4 Notre Dame. The Buckeyes (7-0), in turn, dismantled No. 2 Clemson 49-28 in a massive victory. The two teams will meet for the first time since College Football’s inaugural Playoff in 2014, where Scarlet and Gray won the victory.

How will it be this time? Meyer Urbano, the man who coached the Buckeyes during that game, spoke to Joel Klatt on FOX Sports’ Breaking the Huddle Wednesday night and said he sees Ohio State scoring a few points on this one.

“I watched a lot of them. I know them very well, ”said Meyer. “They win the game because of the fundamentals, great players, great technique and working on their trends. Clemson was more like ‘we’re going to disturb you, be everywhere, create a lot of different looks for you. Alabama will line up and play. They disguise a little, but not much. So it will be a very different game.

“I think Ohio State is going to score some points. I saw Florida do that, I saw Ole Miss do that and I think the state of Ohio is better than these two teams offensively. “

Just because Meyer believes that the state of Ohio will have its way in the attack, does not mean that he believes Alabama will not. Crimson Tide had the most explosive unit in the country for the entire season, and it will be a big challenge for the Buckeyes’ defense to stop them.

“Now, are you talking about Alabama’s crime? I didn’t see anyone even close to slowing it down. You have three – I think – Heisman winners. In their own time, they could have beaten Heisman. Obviously, you can’t beat them all this year. So this will be a high-scoring game. “
