Twitter user tracks K circle highlighted at Viral Beatdown

The viral video of a fight at a Circle K convenience store brought up social media detectives this week. On Saturday, users tracked down the store where the now infamous “Circle K Twisted Tea Fight” video was filmed. Twitter user Mauricio tweeted a photo of the modest store with the caption: “Where it all went wrong …”

Social media in general is still recovering from a one-minute, 40-second video posted on Twitter for the first time last Thursday, showing a racist man being hit in the face by a can of Twisted Tea. After repeatedly shouting racial slander and challenging a black man to beat him, the racist was drenched, knocked over and beaten before finally admitting the confrontation. It turns out that the fight took place in Elyria, Ohio, and Mauricio correctly identified the K Circle in question, according to Know your meme.

The video took the world by storm, with comments from rapper Snoop Dogg and other public figures to help propel it. However, so far there have been no real legal consequences for any of the fighters. Elyria police lieutenant James Welsh gave a statement to The Chronicle-Telegram, saying officials believe they know the two men in the video, but so far no official reports have been filed. It is not clear whether an investigation is underway.

The black man in the video who wielded Twisted Tea may with sufficient skill to generate a whole genre of memes, however, has appeared publicly. On Wednesday, Barry Allen – aka “Mr. TeaKO” – gave an interview with Mark One Sports on YouTube about the meeting. He described what happened before the camera started to rotate.

“As soon as I enter, he is with friends, I presume, and calling the employees, two blacks, no,” he said. “I’m like, okay. Let’s just hope he leaves when I get there … So, I ignored him. And he’s still there, still saying the word like he’s just a normal black guy having fun with everyone your friends, just relaxing. And you could tell by their faces that they weren’t really feeling it, but they can’t say anything because it will put their work at risk. “

“I didn’t feel that way,” continued Allen. “I’m like, ‘Come on, bro, stop saying the word. Why are you yelling’ n-, bro? ‘He said,’ Man, I say n- whenever I want to. Leave me alone ‘, and practically came back to your conversation. I said ‘come on, stop saying the word. You are really pissing me off now.’ “

“That’s when I catch him and he’s going to kick him. He didn’t really kick me, but I felt the kick coming. So I just reacted at that point,” said Allen calmly. He then confirmed that the video went viral in almost no time. “I called my wife as soon as I got in the car. The moment I got in the car, started to move, backed up and hit the road, I’m saying to my wife, ‘I hit a guy in the face with a can.’ She’s like, ‘I know. I’m watching.’ You had 5,000 views when I was driving two blocks home. “
