David Schoen, one of two lawyers who will represent former President Donald Trump at his Senate impeachment trial this month, told “Hannity” on Monday that Senate Democrats have already determined that Trump is guilty of the charge against him.
Schoen told host Sean Hannity that, in his opinion, “this process is completely unconstitutional and is a very, very dangerous path to follow in relation to the First Amendment, putting at risk any passionate political speaker who is really against everything we believe in and in this country. “
“I think it is also the most reckless legislative action I have seen in my life,” he added. “This is destroying the country at a time when we don’t need anything like that.”

The trial, which is scheduled to begin on February 9, will be chaired by Senate President Pro Tempore Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., Instead of Supreme Court President John Roberts.
“Can you imagine any American citizen considering it to be a trial in which the judge and jury have publicly announced that the defendant should be convicted in this case?” Asked Schoen. “And, in fact, Senator Leahy asked, demanded that Senator McConnell also vote for a conviction … how can we get a fair trial? Schoen added that the impeachment managers – led by Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md. – plan to do violent behavior montages during the Capitol on January 6, and try to link that to Trump.
“This has nothing to do with President Trump and the country doesn’t just need to watch videos of disturbances and disturbances,” said Schoen. “We need to heal now. We need to move on.”
