President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump decided to leave their Mar-a-Lago club before their luxurious New Year’s Eve party.
The couple recently changed their plans to spend the night of December 31 at the White House, and were scheduled to leave Florida at 11 am that day.
Kaitlan Collins and Kevin Liptak of CNN, citing three people familiar with the event, reported that guests had already started to meet at the resort and had previously been informed that Trump would be attending.
He had previously planned to leave Mar-a-Lago on New Year’s Day, the Associated Press reported.
The Huffington Post reported that tickets to the party had cost about $ 1,000 in previous years.
The event is an annual tradition for the Trump family, and CNN noted that Trump usually poses for the media on his red carpet.
A member of Mar-a-Lago told CNN on Tuesday that he heard that at least 500 reservations were made. About 800 people attended the party in 2017, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Neither Trump nor the White House gave a reason for Trump’s early departure from the resort.
The Associated Press reported that Trump and Melania arrived in Mar-a-Lago on December 23 and spent most of their time there repeating their complaints about the results of the presidential election, which led him to lose to President-elect Joe Biden.
He will return to Washington, DC, as some Republicans plan to formally contest when Congress confirms Biden’s election victory. Trump stated without foundation that he won the election and tried, unsuccessfully, to annul the results.
