Triple H explains why he turned down WrestleMania’s fight against AJ Styles

AJ Styles was lobbying for a fight against Triple H at this year’s WrestleMania edition, but the plans could not materialize for this dream fight.

During his recent media call to promote the NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver event, The Game talked about a number of things and explained why he declined to offer a fight against Phenomenal One.

Triple H explained how AJ Styles wanted the fight and kept asking for it from the former world champion as the Show Of Shows approached. He revealed that at the beginning he had not said no at the outset:

“He pestered me every time I saw him! He asked me about it and he asked me about my schedule and as we got closer, man, I said that before, preparing for WrestleMania is a different thing. And the older you get, the harder it gets.

“When he came to me, I said, ‘AJ, I’m not going to say no. Personally, I would love to work with you and at this point, you can take me to something. ‘So, I would love to. “

However, as time went on, Triple H realized that he would not be able to get in shape for a fight on the show. Even though Styles still waited until the last minute, King Of Kings decided to cancel the plans:

“There is a part of me that wants to do this, and then there is a larger part of me that says, ‘I am so busy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that I even try and contemplate how to train the way I want to train and stay shaped – and shaped, I don’t mean looking – shaped like a ring so you’re not ashamed when you get there at 52

“It’s a lot of work and I don’t know if I have it – I’m not afraid of work. If I could do more hours during the day, I could find time for that. It’s time. “

After getting a negative response from Triple H, AJ Styles is now scheduled to compete in a doubles match. He will join Omos to challenge New Day for the Raw for the doubles championship on the first night of WrestleMania 37.
