Travis Kelce breaks two NFL records in Chiefs’ victory over Falcons

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce once again scored his place in the NFL record book during the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon.

Kelce became the first tight end in NFL history with two seasons of 100 catches, and broke George Kittle’s record in a single NFL season of more receiving yards for a tight end.

During week 16, Kelce now has exactly 1,400 receiving yards. Kittle set the record two years ago at 1,377.

Kansas City, winner of 10 consecutive games, also won seven consecutive games by six points or less. The Chiefs’ 28-game streak, with 20 or more points, has come to an end. It was only the second time in 58 games since 2017 that the Chiefs scored 20 points or less.

Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes shot to 278 and two touchdowns in victory. He nailed it with wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for a 25-yard touchdown with less than two minutes to go and putting the Chiefs in the lead forever.
