A lot has been said about Chase Young calling Tom Brady last week.
Washington’s rookie of the year candidate received what he asked for in the form of a 31-23 wild card loss to Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In the end, it was all about respect between the 21-year-old and the 21-year-old NFL veteran. The two shared their mutual admiration at the end of the game on January 9, and Young asked Brady for his shirt.
Young to Brady: ‘I need something from you’
“Hey Chase, way to play, bro,” Brady told Young.
“I appreciate you,” replied Young. “You are the real GOAT. I need something from you. “
“What do you need?” Brady asked.
“I need this from you,” said Young of Brady’s shirt.
Brady delivery
COVID-19 restrictions prevent players from exchanging t-shirts on the field. So, Brady promised to send it to Young. On Saturday he delivered. Young shared the video of the gift on his Instagram page. It came complete with an autograph and a friendly barb from the Michigan man for the great state of Ohio.
“Chase, good luck!” Brady wrote. “Becoming blue.”
Young didn’t seem to mind the tease surrounding college football’s bitter rivalry and returned with another reminder of his remarkable debut season.
