Ratatouille: the musical TikTok has some great Broadway talent on board for its January 1 streaming performance. Adam Lambert, Wayne Brady, Kevin Chamberlin, Mary Testa and Priscilla Lopez will play major roles, with Tituss Burgess playing Remy, the sophisticated rat who loves good food.
The unique presentation will benefit the Actors Fund. Based on the 2007 Disney-Pixar film Ratatouille, the musical appeared on TikTok, with the creators composing songs based on the original film, building the “show” piece by piece. Emily Jacobsen (@e_jaccs) made the original song “Remy the Ratatouille” for TikTok, and composer Daniel Mertzlufft, created the Broadway-style arrangement of Jacobsen’s music that really kick-started a full show. Honestly, it feels so good.
“The Rat’s Way of Life” and “Ratatouille Tango” created by TikToker Blake Rouse will be featured in the musical, and the Playbill program created by TikToker Jess Siswick is the promotional art of the musical.
TodayTix, who is the ticket seller for the show, tweeted that “the creators are, in fact, being compensated and credited! Our teams are collaborating with them to make this the show of all their dreams. “
Disney is not directly involved with the development, but apparently has given its approval to the project. Like actor Patton Oswalt, Remy’s original voice.
The show will be broadcast via TodayTix on January 1 at 7 pm Eastern Time, with ticket prices ranging from $ 5 to $ 50. Ratatouille: the musical TikTok will be available on demand for 72 hours later.
