TikTok now has an official Android TV app,

TikTok arrived on Google’s Android TV platform, marking the latest expansion of the short video application for large screens, according to 9to5Google. Although the app is currently on the Google Play Store, it doesn’t seem to be working in all regions yet.

The Android TV version of TikTok is very similar to the TikTok app that came to Samsung TVs in the UK. Videos are played vertically (just like in the phone app) in a scrollable main feed, with access to specific categories of videos, and your profile is also available for browsing. I was unable to download it to my Chromecast with Google TV for testing, but it appears to be an option with more features than what TikTok launched on Amazon’s Fire TV, which had a selection of videos curated by TikTok that does not require an account to see.

Many users have faced the problem of the app not working in their region, with one of the main exceptions being people who download it in the UK, Android Police reports. Reddit users also face the problem, even when trying to transfer the app to other Android TV devices. The application loads, but when a user tries to log in, they are informed that the TikTok application is not yet available in their region. The Verge contacted TikTok to comment on the availability of the application.

If you want to try it out for yourself, you can download the new Android TV TikTok experience from the Play Store now.
