Tiger Woods was driving on a curvy road minutes before a horrible accident, shows on video

A camera captured Tiger Woods driving through a Los Angeles County neighborhood on a winding road just before he crashed and suffered several leg injuries.

TMZ Sports obtained the video on Tuesday, which shows the 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV driving behind a minivan at about 7:05 am local time on Hawthorne Blvd, near Rancho Palos Verdes.

The SUV has the same Genesis Invitational insignia on the door that can be seen at the scene of Woods’ accident. Woods was in town for the event.

The footage does not show the actual accident, but it does show the vehicles climbing a steep slope. On the opposite side, cyclists are going down the hill. At first glance, it didn’t look like the vehicle was accelerating quickly or turning uncontrollably.

It is unclear who was in the minivan in front of Woods.

Police said Woods fell at about 7:12 am local time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said Woods was driving at “relatively higher than normal speed” when he hit a mountainous area and that Woods was driving north when he hit a central divider and flew several hundred meters. He noted that there was no evidence of disability when emergency personnel arrived.

“[The vehicle] it crossed the central partition, to the point of being several hundred meters away, so obviously it indicates that they were going at a relatively higher speed than normal. However, because it is on a slope, it has slopes and also curves, “said Villanueva.” This area has a high frequency of accidents. It is not uncommon. “

He added that the front of the vehicle was “totally destroyed”, but the interior was “more or less intact”.

Congressman Carlos Gonzalez, who was one of the first emergency personnel to arrive at the scene, said Woods knew where he was and what time of day it was. He described Woods as “calm and lucid”.

Two sources told Fox News that Woods was scheduled to work with Discovery Networks to give “teaching classes” behind the scenes with several stars, including NFL Drew Brees and Justin Herbert.
